Rev. 3:18a Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich
Hector and I both enjoy watching treasure hunting shows. On Tuesday nights we watch "The Curse of Oak Island." It's amazing how long people will search for treasure based on a hunch or a story. It's an obsession that has exhausted all of people's wealth and time. What do we as Christians spend all of our time searching for? I hope it's not money or material things because those will all pass away. Jesus made that clear many times. Our treasure should be the Word of God. That is what we should desire more than gold (Ps. 19:10) because where our treasure is, our heart will also be (Mt. 6:21). We should pursue God's Word with our whole being. We should be willing to give away every material thing to gain that "pearl of great price" (Mt. 13:46). If we are obsessed with godliness like the world is obsessed with wealth, then we will be rewarded with eternal life and that is our treasure.
Thanks for your love. We treasure you, Matt
