Many of us are struggling financially right now. A lot of jobs and businesses have been lost. People have relied on the government to provide some help in the form or rent relief, loan forbearance, or stimulus checks. I saw on the news that some people are still waiting on their first stimulus check while the national leaders argue about the details of a long overdue second one. There reportedly have been hundreds of inmates' names used in Pennsylvania to get additional stimulus checks. I pray that the government does its job soon to take care of the citizens of the United States. We are dual citizens though. Are we also struggling as citizens of Heaven? We can't meet together physically as the Body of Christ like we are used to. Are our weak prayer lives really struggling now? Are we failing to maintain the disciplines of Bible study and worship? If so, where do we get our spiritual stimulus checks? Where two or three are gathered in Jesus' name, He is there (Matt. 18:20). Let's call a brother or sister in Christ. Have a virtual visit to read Scripture, pray, and worship together. See if that doesn't boost our spirits. Test it to see if it doesn't change our perspective. God guarantees that joy will come because the joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh. 8:10). If we really cannot get in contact with anyone we can listen to Christian music and sing along. We can watch a Bible-teaching pastor on TV and let the Spirit fill our tanks. It is our sincere prayer that this ministry become part of your spiritual exercise regimen and that when we need some spiritual stimulation, we can come together and find it.
