We all go through difficulties here. We can feel beat down and broken at times. I can't think of anything more encouraging then remembering who we are. It's all in our Bibles. God tells us we are His chosen ones (Col. 3:12; Tit. 1:1). We are beloved children (Eph. 5:1). Since we are his children we are heirs of God (Gal. 4:7), heirs of the kingdom (Jas. 2:5), heirs of the promise (Heb. 6:17), heirs of salvation (Heb. 1:14), and joint heirs with Christ (Rom. 8:17). Just think about what that means! He also calls us a holy priesthood and a holy nation (1 Pet. 2:5,9). As ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20), we are the lights of the world (Matt. 5:14). What a privilege! What a responsibility! And He calls us so much more. While we are reminded that we are inmates by what we see everyday, we can encourage ourselves by meditating on who God says we are and let those awesome truths transform our lives.
