This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (Ps.118:24, NKJV) We will rejoice! Not we should, or we ought to. No, the psalmist said that we will rejoice and be glad in it. We will, all of us, every man, woman, and child of God, we will all rejoice in the fact that this day salvation is ours. Today we rejoice that we have been afforded to be called by the glorious name of our God. Today we will rejoice in the fact that we are loved unconditionally, provided for through super-abundant grace, and guaranteed a place in heaven with our Lord and Savior.
Today is the day we don't complain, we don't worry, we don't despair. Today we rejoice because we know there is nothing too bid for our God to handle. We rejoice on this day, knowing that it wasn't promised to us but yet we were blessed to see it anyway. Today we rejoice in the fact though God doesn't have to do the things for us that he does, he does them anyway because of how much he treasures us. Today we prepare ourselves for every day that follows.
Today I vow that, everyday, no matter what is going on in my life, I will rejoice over every single day I am blessed with. I vow that I will let each day that the sun rises and my eyes open be a day that I find joy in. I vow to appreciate the grace, mercy, blessings, and provision of my God. I vow today and I pray everyone reading this will vow with me that everyday will be a cause for rejoicing.
When you open your eyes don't let the first thought you think about be the problems, concerns and worries that want to overtake you. Let your firs thought be one of rejoicing for all of the great things God has done, is doing, and will continue to do in and through your lives. We will rejoice! That's what the Bible says so that is what I'm going to do, I am going to rejoice and be glad. We all should.
Prayer for the day: Almighty God, teach us to rejoice and be glad in each day that you give us. You are our very life, may we praise you with each breath we take. Amen.
