Reflections #3: WWJD!

WWJD: What Would Jesus Do? Remember when this acronym was the latest craze? I do and now, all these years later I look back at at all the merchandise with those four letters either stitched into it, stenciled on it, drawn, painted, or air brushed on it, and all I see is an opportunity wasted. This phrase should have been a rallying cry for the Christian community. It should have caused us to think about the things we thought, said, and did, and compare them to the things our Lord and Savior would have done in a situation like the one any of us were facing at any given moment. But, these four letters which should have caused us to become more Christ-like, ultimately became just another fashion statement and a way for people to say or to show they were "Christian". And the means by which another person was able to turn a profit by peddling the Gospel. Well for anyone who reads this today I would like to encourage you to consider these four letters before you make a decision. I would like for you to consider them before you speak out in anger or frustration. I would like for you to consider them before you give in to temptation. I would like for you to consider them before every single thing you do. Consider them and remember that your Lord and Savior is not only watching you to to see what you will do but He's also waiting to help you do what He's said for you to do if you'll only take a moment to ask for his help. Do this and at the end of the day, when you realize how much better that day was than previous ones then start telling people. Let it be a testimony for you how considering your Lord before doing anything enabled you to change your life and maybe, just maybe, the testimonies of passionate, Christ-like people can start the revolution that WWJD should have. Today let those four letters strand for something other than profit, today let them stand for life change, to the individual first and ultimately the entire body of Christ. God Bless.
