Today is Thurs. Apr. 2nd 2020 and as I write this I'm confined to my cell and have been for the past four days. The prisons in Pennsylvania are under quarantine and I'm allowed 35 minutes of non confinement time out my cell per day so as you can probably imagine I've been watching a ton of TV and on every channel I've watched I've heard the words "WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!" News anchors and hosts of various shows are proclaiming this, celebrities on webcams from their homes are proclaiming it, there are even commercials proclaiming this. But proclaiming and doing are two different things. My hope is that is that we make these words more than just words. Let them not be just another slogan we adopt but never live by. Let these words be words we put in action. Today, if you know someone who's sick, someone who's at home alone, someone who's struggling through these trying times alone then call them. Text them, email them, Skype with them or whatever else is possible and let them know they're not alone. Let them know they're being thought of, pray with them, encourage them, and let them know that we are indeed in this together. I have a friend who calls me "O' Man Of The Text" because I live according to the word of God. Today I am addressing us, The People Of The Text, the Christians, we who understand the concept of loving, caring for, being concerned about, and encouraging others. The words "We're all in this together" are not new to us they're words the Church has been expected to exemplify since Luke wrote the following words, 'THESE ALL CONTINUED WITH ONE ACCORD IN PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION...' in Acts 1:14 and also 'NOW THE MULTITUDE OF THOSE WHO BELIEVED WERE OF ONE HEART AND ONE SOUL...' in Acts 4:32. There was immense unity in the church back then and in these times we need to regain that. Be there for one another as your God has instructed. Be brothers and sisters to one another and live the words that are being spoke so frequently during these times.
