Reflection #2: What If...

Writer's picture: Christopher McLaurinChristopher McLaurin

"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders/

Let me walk upon the waters/

Wherever you would call me/

Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander/

And my faith will be made stronger/

In the presence of my Savior."

These words are from the song "Oceans" by Hillsong United, beautiful song, absolutely beautiful, and the words, the words are so powerful. They depict an attitude each one of us should possess, an attitude the Bible would tell us God expects us to have. But the sad truth is that many of us don't, but what if we did. What if our request of The Holy Spirit was he would lead us to a point in our lives where our trust in our God was without borders, limitations, or fears. What if our desire was that we get to the point to where we would appear at whatever place He called us to, or go wherever He sent us to do whatever He commanded without question or hesitation. What if we we're willing to stretch our arms further than they've ever been stretched, willing to pray harder than we've ever prayed, willing to leave the safety of what our eyes can see and step out on faith into the sea of life without anything to support us except our Lord. And Most importantly of all, what if we were willing to continually ask our God for help in doing these things. What if we were willing to do these things and did them on a daily basis. What if we lived our lives at the foot of the cross earnestly and diligently seeking the guidance, strength, and growth our Lord has assured us of? Do you know what our lives would look like? Bonds would break, shackles would be loosed, and mountains would move. Life as we know it would change in ways we never thought possible. The bible tells us that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think... He can and He will if we want Him to and if we allow Him to. So today if you want to experience all God has for you answer the "What If" questions posed in this post and see what you're God does. God Bless.
