People of faith. This is who we are but if I'm being honest I have to admit that, at one time, I had an extremely skewed understanding of what it meant to be a person of faith. For example, I was under the totally false delusion that I was never supposed to go through anything again. That life was going to be easy. Of course it wasn't and when things started to get rough my faith began to weaken and at one time almost disappeared but thanks be to God for His Word which is ...PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE COMPLETE, THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK. (2Tim 3:16,17) See, the more I read the Word and immersed myself in it, the more I prayed for God to open the scriptures to my understanding, the more He did. I came to see very clearly that every man of God in the bible went through stuff and I wasn't going to be any different. I also saw, very clearly, that God was with them in each situation enabling them to endure until He brought them through. Immediately my understanding changed and I began to realize that being a person of faith meant enduring situations until God brought me through. And so today, during these days of uncertainty where problems can begin to pile one on top of the other I want to encourage you to not get discouraged. As people of faith our faith is in our God who's an expert at bringing His people through situations. We serve the same God who brought an entire nation of people through a sea that He parted for them. He even made sure the ground was dry. Our God is not going to desert us, He's not going to leave or forsake us, and He's definitely not going to fail us. Our God is going to be for us what He's always been for His people, ...OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH, A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE (Ps 46:1,2) The words "very present" meaning "an abundantly available" Our God is an abundantly available help for His people and we, through faith in Jesus are His people.
