Two weeks ago I met a man, a blind man. This blind man suffered a seizure one day and on the other side of that seizure he lost most of his hearing. He could hear a tiny bit out of his left ear if the person speaking had a deep voice, their lips were at his ear canal, and they were yelling. After seeing a doctor it was determined that he had meningitis and that's what was causing his hearing loss. As I aided him one day in the prison's infirmary I heard him question, out loud, more so to himself than to me, if he was dying in prison and in that moment I prayed. I prayed to Jesus that He would heal this man. I prayed and did so in faith. Faith in Christ's ability as a healer and deliverer. I ignored the hope the nurses were trying to give the man and placed no faith in the doctors orders for treatment instead I placed my faith in the One, True, Physician, and waited. Yesterday I spoke to this man in a tone of voice just a notch above my normal tone and we spoke about how his hearing had improved and then I told him how I had been praying for his hearing to be restored and he thanked me. I told him that I believed in Jesus, that I knew Him to be a miracle worker, and that I believed whole-heartedly that Christ had restored his hearing. He thanked me again and smiled a smile that could light up the darkest night. Praise the Lord. I shared this story with you as a reminder of the awesomeness, power, majesty, ability, and faithfulness of the Lord we serve, praise, and worship. I want all of us to remember that He's always in business, the business of us. And most importantly I never want us to forget that in with Him we always have somewhere to turn. We're never alone. Even in our darkest, scariest, most dread filled moments He is there and He's not just there but He's there to move on our behalf. So, today, if you find yourself in a situation where your faith is being tested, please let this be a reminder of the God we serve and what He does in the lives of His people.
