THEN HE SAID TO ME, DO NOT FEAR, DANIEL, FOR FROM THE FIRST DAY THAT YOU SET YOUR HEART TO UNDERSTAND, AND TO HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE YOUR GOD, YOUR WORDS WERE HEARD AND I HAVE COME BECAUSE OF YOUR WORDS (Daniel 10:12)
Daniel had been waiting for 21 days before he'd heard these words. He'd been fasting and praying and regardless of how long it took for him to receive his answer he never gave up. And when the angel spoke to Daniel he told him he'd been heard from the first day that he set his heart to understand and humble himself before his God. From the very moment that Daniel decided to rely on God's strength and not his own God heard him and acted upon Daniel's request.
Please hear this. The very moment and instant that you decide to take your issues to God, and set your heart to understand Him, and you humble yourself before Him, He listens. He hears you and looks upon you, His child, compassionately, and lovingly, and He begins to act. And when He acts He does the thing that's best for you and He does it in His time because not only does He know what's best for us but He also knows when its going to be best for us. And knowing this I want to encourage you today to not lose heart when it seems like God hasn't heard you, I assure you He has. Don't give up waiting for Him and try to fix on your own what you've already laid at the foot of the cross. That's what the enemy wants you to do. He wants you to take your issues out of God's hands and try to fix them on your own. Things we have been powerless against our whole lives. Things such as addiction, anger, hatred, lust, alcoholism, lying, covetousness, brokenness, and anything else that plagues us. He wants us to try and fix these things so we can fail. Don't give him what he wants. I promise you God has heard you and I promise you He's working on your behalf. I know we can't always see or feel this in the midst of struggle but its true. He is working. And when He works for you nothing can prevail against you.
