Are You Seeking The Living Among The Dead?

..."WHY DO YOU SEEK THE LIVING AMONG THE DEAD?" (Luke 24:5)

Thats the question the angels posed to those who came to Jesus' tomb. They came seeking but the One they sought wasn't there, He couldn't be. The tomb was for the dead, the One they sought was very much alive and the living and dead don't mix. So let me pose this question. Who finds themselves in the same position as those the angels spoke to? How many of us are seeking the living among the dead specifically in our relationships and friendships? How many people right now are experiencing strife in a relationship or a friendship with someone who's either not a Christian or someone who proclaims to be a Christian but doesn't live like one? And I mean strife as a continual thing, something that never really ceases and only decreases for spells only to return, in many cases worst than before. If you answered yes have you considered the possibility this is occurring because you and whoever the person is have two totally different existences. And I know there are always going to be issues in relationships and friendships but there's a distinct difference between issues involving people who've been transformed by the renewing of their minds, are under the same commands and Lordship, who understand the concepts of love, grace, mercy, compassion, and forgiveness as a spiritual principle and way of life, and are willing to demonstrate them. As opposed to those who are unregenerate. You, as a person alive in Christ, cannot expect to be treated the way you want to be, how you know you should be, by a person still dead in their sin. You have two completely different belief systems which means that treatment of another person at the level Christ commands is foreign to them just like it was to us before we allowed Christ into our lives. So evaluate your relationships, and ask Jesus if they're unions He'd have you to be in. If they're not He'll guide you into unions you should be involved in and He'll sustain you in them.
