Amazing Grace!

Grace:The unmerited favor of God. Unmerited, something I was neither worthy or deserving of, something I could never earn no matter how hard I tried, but yet something I was freely offered by God because He loved me. How amazing is that? Better yet how amazing is this? BUT GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS OWN LOVE TOWARD US IN THAT WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS CHRIST DIED FOR US.(Ro. 5:8) While we were still sinners, while we were enemies of God, while we were willing practitioners of acts deserving of God's wrath, Christ died for us. Our Lord and Savior, God in the flesh, the Omniscient One who knows everything from beginning to end. The One who knew every single thing we would ever think, say, and do, from the harmless to the heinous. This One, despite knowing all the ways we would offend Him, all the ways we would transgress His commands, all the ways we would disregard Him and take Him for granted, loved us so much that He went to the cross suffering the penalty for our sins, a penalty we rightfully deserved. Can you imagine that? Can you fathom committing such a selfless, self sacrificial act? I can't, but thankfully Jesus could. Thankfully He did. Today I, a man convicted of 2nd degree murder, a man people might consider unredeemable and unworthy of anything but punishment and suffering, today I write this confidently knowing that I've been forgiven, redeemed, that I'm loved unconditionally, and that one day I'll stand face to face with my Lord and hear Him say "Well done good and faithful servant." That's amazing grace, grace that saved a wretch like me and I'm so thankful for it. We all should be. So, on this day, the day before we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord lets offer Him the sacrifice of our praise. Let's celebrate Him and His obedience to the the decree of His father, lets cherish the relationships we're blessed to have with Him, and lets pray for those who, as of yet, have not come to know Him or the awesomeness of His grace, that they will one day soon.
