Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord of our God. (Ps 20:7, NKJV)
In the days of King Davids chariots and horses were prestigious weapons and the more of them a ruler had, the more imposing his army was and because of this these things were what ancient kings trusted put their trust in. Not David though. I mean, how could he? A man who killed the lion and the bear, a man who defeated Goliath with just a sling, a man who was delivered from the hands of King Saul, a man who was delivered from the hands of all his enemies, a man who knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that all of these things were made possible by his God. How could he ever put his trust in anything other than God? He couldn't. And neither should we.
Today, if you have experienced the greatness of your God, if he has proven himself to be trustworthy, if he is and has been exactly who his word says he is, then our trust shout be in him and in him only. I don't care what the situation is. If you or a loved one is sick or suffering from an ailment, don't put your trust in what the doctors say or how they diagnose you, put your trust in your God who is able to heal in a way that doctors can't even comprehend. Do not trust in man's strength or ability and that includes your own, but trust in the ability of the God you serve. Remember his name. Remember his revelation of himself and all of his blessings, mercies, and deliverance he has provided.
Today let us once again follow the example of a man after God's own heart. When trial and tribulation come upon you. When hardships occur. When temptation attacks. When life threatens to get the best of you. In these moments place your trust solely in the one who is trustworthy, the only one who will never fail you, the only one who will never do what is not best for you. Man will fail you, God won't which seems to make the decision of who to place your trust in a no-brainer. Today, if you realize that your trust has been in something or someone other than God, then change this immediately. God bless.
