Today I am thankful for the calling placed on my life. I am thankful God bestowed the privilege of ministry upon me. Being called to ministry, being one who was sent by God to shepherd his people, and coming to terms with and understanding what that truly means and entails changed my outlook on life. I now understand that I perform the most important job on the face of the earth. I'm responsible for preaching, teaching, and spreading the Word of God what could be more important than that? Nothing. And so today I repeat the words of the Apostle Paul,
AND I THANK CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD WHO HAS ENABLED ME, BECAUSE HE COUNTED ME FAITHFUL, PUTTING ME INTO THE MINISTRY,
ALTHOUGH I WAS FORMERLY A BLASPHEMER, A PERSECUTOR, AND AN INSOLENT MAN; BUT I OBTAINED MERCY BECAUSE I DID IT IGNORANTLY IN UNBELIEF.
AND THE GRACE OF OUR LORD WAS EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANT, WITH FAITH AND LOVE WHICH ARE IN CHRIST JESUS.
THIS IS A FAITHFUL SAYING AND WORTHY OF ALL ACCEPTANCE THAT CHRIST JESUS CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS, OF WHOM I AM CHIEF.
HOWEVER, FOR THIS REASON I OBTAINED MERCY, THAT IN ME FIRST JESUS CHRIST MIGHT SHOW ALL LONGSUFFERING, AS A PATTERN TO THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO BELIEVE ON HIM FOR EVERLASTING LIFE.
NOW TO THE KING ETERNAL, IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE, TO GOD WHO ALONE IS WISE, BE HONOR AND GLORY FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN. (1 TIM. 12-17)
This is what I am thankful for today, that God saw the best in me. That a man like me, a man who was once a Muslim, a man who has been convicted of murder, a man who was selfish, and manipulative, and many other things things a minister of God's word shouldn't be, was counted faithful and put into the ministry. And I'm so thankful that I am always enabled by God to do the job I am called to. Because I fully understand its Him who works in me and not anything of my own strength, knowledge or wisdom. This is what I'm thankful for today and everyday. What about you, what are you thankful for today? Please feel free to respond, we'd love to hear.
