P.O.W'S. #3(Prisoners Of Weakness)

Writer's picture: Christopher McLaurinChristopher McLaurin

If I was someone into the self-help craze that has swept our society, or a motivational speaker, if I was someone seeking to sell millions of books by telling you to be the best you possible, I would probably start this reflection by telling you how strong I am and that weakness is a state of mind. One to be shunned and shed by any means necessary so you don't become a slave to it and allow yourself to be taken advantage of and also one you can and should overcome so you could be successful and happy. And if I repeated these things enough times people looking for something better in their lives would not only begin to believe the words I was speaking, they'd eventually become prisoners to them. But, since I'm not any of those things I'll tell you what I know to be true and give you some words to become prisoners of. Weakness realized, embraced, and confessed is the beginning of strength.

AND HE SAID TO ME, "MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU, FOR MY STRENGTH IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS" THEREFORE MOST GLADLY I WILL RATHER BOAST IN MY INFIRMITIES, THAT THE POWER OF CHRIST MAY REST UPON ME. THERE FOR I TAKE PLEASURE IN INFIRMITIES, IN REPROACHES, IN NEEDS, IN PERSECUTIONS, IN DISTRESSES, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. FORM WHEN I AM WEAK, THEN I AM STRONG. (2 Cor. 12:9,10).

Weakness isn't something to be shed its something to be embraced because the moment it is we will find our strength in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Don't be ashamed to admit that you're weak, or that you're limited in some way or area in your life. I guarantee that if you stand before your Lord and confess to Him your weakness He'll make you stronger than you ever thought possible. If you're going to be a prisoner of words be a prisoner of words that are going to set you free. Words such as, "Lord I'm weak" " Jesus I can't do this without you" "Help me!". Let words like this hold you captive and allow your Lord to free you. Weakness isn't your enemy but believing you're strong when you're not is. God Bless
