Our Responsibility!

Writer's picture: Christopher McLaurinChristopher McLaurin

Change! This is what everyone is calling for and most people have an idea of what that change should look like but I submit that ideas are not enough. We are in a time when action is needed and that action has to start with us being the change we want to see implemented in our society. It's the responsibility of the body of Christ to lead by example and to do so boldly. We have to be all of the things we say we want others to be and we have to be that at all times We have to do it regardless of what the situation or circumstance is, regardless of who is and isn't watching, and we have to do it even when it means doing something others either aren't willing to do or may ostracize us for doing. We say we want people to be loving then we have to be loving and our love has to be unconditional without limits, bounds, prejudice, or bias. Our love can't just love be for those we know and have relationships with. Our love can't be only for people who do things for us it has to be for every single person on the face of the earth. Our God didn't and doesn't only love some of us, He so loved the world... and we should too. Now is the time for real, true, genuine, society changing, division ending, agape love to be exemplified by those of us who have learned and experienced it from our God who is love. Hate is trying to force its way into daily living so it can become the primary emotion/action but it cannot succeed if love is present and being shown by every man and woman of Christ to every person we encounter. Today I plead with every man and woman of Christ to not just talk about how much there needs to be change and to not simply spew ideas about change but to be the change. Today let's live and love the way God has not only shown us but also commanded us. This is our responsibility and its one we should take very, very, seriously. God Bless.
