Components of Belief #3
Component #3 -- Faithful Patience -- (Mark 5:24-34) The story of the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years. I don't wat to talk about the woman and her deliverance although it's an amazing display of belief in and of itself. What I want to do is to show how her story brings the third component of true belief to light in Jairus.

The Bible doesn't tell how long Jesus' encounter with the woman was, but consider this, any parent, myself included, will tell you that when something as serious as their child being at the point of death is at hand, and amount of time spent deviating from helping that child is too long. And truthfully, it doesn't have to be anything as serious as being at the point of death. IT could be something of a lesser degree of severity. A small cut that requires only a few stitches will send a loving and concerned parent into a frenzy.
Not Jairus though. Scripture never mentions him becoming worried, panicked, or impatient. His daughter is at the point of death, and as they are on their way for Jesus to heal her, he gets stopped by a woman with a problem of her own, and Jairus says nothing. He just waits for the Lord to finish with the woman. Jairus is the exact opposite of what most of us are today.
How many of us have prayed to God for something; then, when it didn't happen as expeditiously as we thought it should have, we give up on waiting for the Lord and either tried to handle it ourselves or simply regarded the thing we were praying for altogether. I know I have, and I know many of you have also. But not Jairus, he stood and waited without ever uttering a word.
We must understand that our concept of time and God's are two totally different things. Just because what he's promised us didn't happen when we thought it should doesn't mean it won't happen. It just means it's going to happen when God is ready for it to happen. And trust me, everything that is done in God's time is perfect. So, when you know God has promised you something, never give up waiting for it. Be faithfully patient, knowing that it is going to happen, and that when it does, it will be done at a level of excellence we could never even thought about achieving on our own. That's what happened for Jairus.
Prayer for the Day: O most wise God, your time is always the right time. Grant us the gift of faithful patience especially when it seems that our hopes and dreams are not going to be fulfilled. in the name of Jesus, Amen.
