Greetings to my Drawing Nigh family. How is everyone? I pray that when you read this you're doing well spiritually, physically, and mentally. Please accept my apologies for the delay between posts but there were a few different things at play in my life which led to me having to take a quick break. But I'm back and everything is alright and I'm excited to be back with you guys and writing my daily reflections. Today I will begin a series of reflections entitled P.O.W'S. (Prisoners of Words). Yes, I said prisoners.
Prisoner - One held captive or confined
This is the definition of the word prisoner and that's exactly what we are to the words we speak and the words spoken to us, prisoners. The purpose of this series is to show us how powerful words are and the impact they have on our lives and the lives of others. And not only negatively but positively also. See I want us to understand that the word prisoner which, to most people, may have an inherently negative connotation can also be a term of dedication and devotion. The Apostle Paul called himself a prisoner of Jesus Christ. So while I will show us how words can affect us negatively and turn us into prisoners of negativity I will also show the other side of that coin where words can transform us into prisoners of positivity, life, and progression. My hope and prayer is that by the time we're done with this series we will be more thoughtful about the words we speak and less impulsive and that we'll fully understand how powerful words can be and that the power in them can either be uplifting or destructive. And with that said let us begin.
